Biography : 

55 North was a female fronted band from Southern California. They played over Orange County during couple of years then changed their musical style and their name to Stellar Transit.

Sick Shift

Biography : 

Sick Shift started in Santa Barbara in 1996. They bring a tight skatepunk sound influenced by punk and metal bands. Sick Shift appear on many compilations and get lot of recognition with mp3.com back in the days. They even distribute a part of their first album by selling it on their mp3.com page. Their album Angry Badgers is considered a classic and a must-have within the skatepunk community and is still selling at very high prices on auctions or discog

None The Less

Biography : 

None The Less was formed in late 1995/early 1996 in Granada Hills, California by longtime classmates vocalist/bassist Brian Rush and drummer Raj Sharma. Later joined by high school friend vocalist/guitarist Billy Giovannelli. Over the years, None The Less has had a few band member changes, but the None The Less of today is comprised of four members; Raj Sharma, Billy Giovannelli, guitarist Anthony Cortez, and bassist Scott McLaughlin. The Band has a diverse influence ranging from old to new punk, rock, metal, etc., which makes up their unrelenting punk sound.

Biography : 

Soapbox Revolt was a melodic punk band from Granada Hills, California. They started in the 90's as a 4-piece lineup and went through many lineup changes to end up as a 3-piece. The band toured a lot around California and were signed to Ibex Records with other bands None The Less, The Day and Eight Fingers Down.

Biography : 

Second To None was a band from Burbank, California. They were influenced by punk bands like Strung Out, Lagwagon and A New Found Glory and hardcore bands like Slipknot and Deftones. The result is fast pop/punk and skate/punk songs. The four-piece recorded a demo in 2000 and an album was in the making, I'm not sure if it was released...

Synapse

Biography : 

They started in Fremont, California in 1998. They play lot of shows and recorded 5 songs that they released as an EP and distributed themselves. In the summer of 1999, the band went ou on an 11-state western US tour. After the tour things slowed down a bit. They encountered some member changes and played occasionally. They came back in force in 2001 and released a splith with Evenground.

Welt

Formed in 1993, punk rockers Welt hail from Sacramento, CA. Despite numerous lineup changes over the years, founding member and main songwriter Jason Cooper (bass/vocals) has remained a constant fixture. Signing with the independent (and now defunct) Dr. Dream label shortly after Welt's formation, a series of singles were issued, as well as the full-lengths Better Days in 1995, Kicked in the Teeth in 1996, and Broke Down in 1998, during which time the band relocated to Orange County, CA. By the late '90s, Welt's permanent lineup became solidified, consisting of the ever-present Cooper, guitarists Tobe Bean and Todd Harper, plus drummer Marc Harrismendy. 2001 saw Welt's first release for the Better Youth Record Co., Brand New Dream.

Gimp

Biography : 

Gimp was a San Diego speed-punk band from 1995-98. The band was made up of 5 high school students (later to become 4). The project served as the perfect form of expression, release, and escape from high school life for both the band members and their good friends/fans who showed up at every show. The band ended up having the privilege of opening for the likes of Pulley, Lagwagon, No Use For A Name, Millencolin, Diesel Boy, and Strung Out during their super charged punk rock stint. Ironically, on their last day of school in 1998, the band played their farewell show (at Soma's main stage) as the boys parted ways for different colleges.

The Centerfolds

Biography : 

The Centerfolds were a three piece band hailing from Riverside, California. Their influences include the Descendents/All, Bad Religion, Nirvana, The Police, Face to Face, MxPx, the Beatles, Green Day and the Cure. The Centerfolds have put out one full length CD, Maybe Next Time, on Moose Records, and one seven song EP which they released on their own Ridgemont Records in 2002. They have also appeared on numerous compilations and even organized/funded two samplers of local bands that were passed out for free all over California. However, the recordings didn't do justice to The Centerfolds amazing live performances. Fans all over the west coast have seen the boys open up for bands like Blink-182, Bad Religion, Unwritten Law, Guttermouth, Home Grown, Fenix TX, Dance Hall Crashers, The Ataris and MxPx.
The Centerfolds began playing in an inadequately ventilated garage in the heart of Riverside.
Danny Black (drums), Tim Floyd (vocals, guitar) and Chris Coolwalls (vocals, bass) started the band with a pact to always be true to the spirit of music. After a steady string of local shows and parties, the band began acquiring a dedicated fan base in SoCal. Soon, they managed to perform almost monthly in northern California and Arizona. These trips soon transformed into little tours which have taken the boys through numerous states and even into Mexico. This hard work has paid off for the band. Their EP was a top seller at interpunk.com and they earned the number 1 spot on the punk charts at garageband.com.

Noggin Toboggan

Noggin Toboggan was a Christian punk band from Atascadero, California in the on Bettie Rocket Records.

The band formed in summer of 1995 when Mike Anderson (drums) met Jeremy Wells (bass guitar) at Atascadero Bible Church. Jeremy told Jeff (guitar) and Bryan Mclain (recorder) about Mike. Before long, Jeremy, Jeff, Bryan and Mike started playing. They recorded their first jam session at Bryan's house. Afterwards, Bryan left the band to go solo.

Jeff, Jeremy and Mike began practicing together and also became good friends in the meantime. They went to Joyfest '96 (Knotts Berry Farm) and talked to the Supertones. In 1997, Bryan re-entered the band and they recorded a 13-song EP at Moon Studios entitled Wookin Po Nub. This is a reference to a skit from the earlier days of Saturday Night Live where Eddie Murphy plays Buckwheat and tries to say "Looking For Love". They had 1,000 CDs pressed and distributed and it sold out. This album is very hard to find today.

Noggin Toboggan played many shows and they matured. When 1998 rolled around, they signed onto Bettie Rocket Records. In March 1999, they released their second album, Snapcase. The band released two more albums and then disbanded in 2002.

Bottlewink

Biography : 

Bottlewink was band from Platencia, California, they started in 1997. Can be compared to those kickass fast melodic punk bands from California from around 2000, bands like Broken Cedars, Thru Being Cool, Greenroom, Best Interest and so on... Another really cool band from that era!

One Foot Forward

Biography : 

One Foot Forward was a three-piece Christian punk band from California. The band was formed by vocalist Ryan Hui after his first band No Worries broke up just before releasing an album on label Rescue Records. Their self-titled EP was recorded with the help of drummer Russell Castillo from the band Dogwood. They also released a split album with Logos.
