Epidemic

Biography (source: Epidemic official website) :
IT all started in 1994, when we (Janne, Pope, Jaakko, Otso) finally came up with a decent name Epidemic. Fortunately, Janne was later ( 1995 ) replaced by Jukka. We had played together earlier as " The Silence " and " Janne Koivunen ", mostly we played everything from rolling stones to Metallica. There was also a couple songs of our own.Our first gig took place 13/4/1994 at Kaitaa school, it was a great success !!! ( We have a great amount of friends too... ) The year 94 was an year of training. At spring 1995 we got our first "real" gig in a club called Dico. About a week before Janne decided to leave the band and there was three of us left. In 1995 we managed to get several gigs, for example in Oranssi-club and in Lepakko. In Oranssi we played with Jukka's former band Blind Pig, and that's when Jukka spotted us and asked if he could join the band. We thought that a new guitarist would do us good. We played together once and Jukka's remarkable talent amazed us all. Then it was settled. The official welcome gig was in Lepakko.
So far our style has been quite stable. Originally we played a little bit heavier stuff, but step by step (oh baby !) our music became faster and more melodic. Some might call it punk-rock... we just didn't know it back then!!
Year 1996 was actually nothing special. Of course we rehearsed and performed a loads of shows etc. That was also the year we all turned 18.
Some might say that 1997 was the drastic year for Epidemic. Naturally there were gigs, but most important of all, Junk Punk Records offered to produce us a CD. This was of course something we had dreamed for a "little" while. We have spent 1997-1998 making our songs as perfect as possible for the record.

Overstrung

Biography (Source : http://www.skaterock.com/features/overstrung.html):
Robert -Okay, the year was 1996. My friend Mikko had just bought his first electric guitar. So I went over to his place, cause he was very good on the guitar, and I wanted to hear his stuff.   Mikko played some NOFX songs, and I was stoked. That was when I got the idea to start a punk band. But instead of telling him about it, I went home and wrote some crappy lyrics. The next day I showed them to him, and told about my plan. He agreed that it was a cool idea.   At that time I had never played bass. So I had to buy one, and start learning from there. The same thing went for our first drummer. He sucked just like I did. We managed to come up with some songs, under the name CornFake, before he quit the band.  Two years went by, and the two of us had been making songs without an ordinary drummer. That was when we came in contact with Marcin. He was up for the job, and we changed our name to Overstrung.  Back then Mikko used to be the lead singer, but we really needed someone better. That was when Adam came into the picture. You could say he was the missing link, cause that was also when Overstrung took a change for the better... And now we're just looking forward.

Freak-Ed

Everything started in 1993 in Vantaa, Finland when 4 guys start to play some kind of melodic punk rock. In 1994 a fifth member join the band. This new member is Nora and she will add some female vocals to the songs which is pretty rare in the skatepunk genre. This is in 1995 that the band get signed to Spinefarm Records (a Metal label) and release their first EP. They will then start to make tours around Finland and they will release their full lenght Cantores Majores in 1997 on Spinefarm again. They will then have some lineup changes and this will change their music a bit. Then, after 1997 they will release 2 more CDs (1 EP and a full lenght), under their own label Red Five Records. I unfortunately don't know what happened after their last release in 2001, but the band seems inactive, if not dead..
