Lisp

Biography :
Lisp was a 3-piece melodic punk band from Cambridge, Ontario. They have a cool sound, not really technical but good melodies, typical Canadian punk sound from the 90's. They released 3 CDs by themselves. At least 2 of them were released on CDr, made by the band. They are really hard to find in original. I am in constant search of the latest album they released.

Side Step

Biography :
Side Step was the precursor of Might As Well. When Might As Well began in 1996 under the name Auxilliary One, they rapidly changed their name to Side Step, before finally renaming to Might As Well in 2002. They recorded a demo under that name which they released as a CD-R. I have also seen infos on an old webpage that they were about to release a split with a band that I don't remember the name. I don't know if this split was ever made.

District 7

Biography (source: wikipedia)  :
District 7 is a four-person band from Ontario, Canada that was formed in June 1999. District 7 does not really fit into any real genre perfectly; however, they do share a number of stylistic similarities with Skate punk music. Music influences and similarities include Strike Anywhere, Bigwig, Thrice, Good Riddance and Rise Against. Indeed, the band appears to be entirely against the lack of innovation genre classifications often promote. They have refused to describe their music, instead and offering that "the songs speak for themselves".

The band played 44 dates with the 2002 Warped Tour, has played three cross-Canada tours and two East Coast ventures.

District 7 disbanded in 2006. Some of the members started new projects. Tom fronts OneStarCity while Scott and Ryan formed Solid Snakes.

Ahead Of The Game

Biography :
Ahead Of The Game was a skatepunk band from Orangeville, Ontario. They were active in the early 2000's. I have only a few infos about them. I found that they shared the stage with Jerrycan, Five Knuckle Chuckle and MSG (More Savoury Goodness), and probably more bands too. Like many other Ontario bands their music was very good aggressive skatepunk. If anyone knows more about this band, I want to know :)

Might As Well

Biography :
Might as well was a band from Ontario that started in 1996 under the name Auxilliary One. At this moment the band consisted of Mike and Mark + other members no longer in the band. Shortly after they changed their name to Side Step, consisting of Mike, Mark, Will and Matt. Under Side Step they released a demo CD in 2000. I have infos of a split CD too, but I'm not sure it was released. The band changed their name again this time for Might As Well, and they recorded a 4-track demo. After the demo Will left the band, and Christian and Jay were added, and this completed the lineup and they recorded their full lenght CD. Three Impotent Males

Biography (from their Facebook page) :
Formed in 1994 in Sarnia, Ontario, TIM played fast So Cal style punk rock in the vain of old Propagandhi, Nofx and Randy. They released their only full length on Raw Energy Records in the spring of 1996 and recorded these tracks before going their separate ways in 1998. Wes and Mike went on to form the band 68pornomags and Jeff joined Sarnia's own SRB. Three Impotent males were a staple in the Ontario punk scene in the late 90’s playing all over the province with the likes of Trunk, 5 Knuckle Chuckle and Trigger Happy to name a few. T.I.M. is back with their new 7 song demo entitled KINGS. Wally Wallington has now taken over the sticks.

Chubb was a punk band from Ottawa, Ontario. They started in 1995 with their fast poppy skatepunk songs.  They get more mature on their second release, with a different sound and new influences, but still fast and catchy. Right after the release of From Us To You in 2000, a new member join the band and their style become slower, then the band stop activities. The members are now all in new musical projects like The Fully Down and The Second Glance, and other bands of various musical styles

Bankshot

Here's one of the amazing punk bands that came out of Sault. Ste Marie. Their story started in 1998 when 5 guys started to play punkrock together. During the only 2 years that Bankshot existed, the guys had the chance to play with big bands like Strung Out, Good Riddance, Choke and many more. They also put out an album in 1999 but in late 2000, they disbanded. Some members later started other musical projects in different styles.

Fat Chance

Here's a very particular punk band that comes from Ontario, Canada. The guys started in early 90's, and where influenced by this fast epitaph/fat style. What is particular with Fat Chance is that they added keyboards to their songs, and the result is amazing! The songs can be described as fast and technical progressive punk, and are very original and well built. I dont know any other band that did the same with keyboards. The band is now defunct but some members started another similar project called Hypercricket, which is really worth checking out too!
