Out Of Sight

Biography (Source: Out Of Sight official website) :
It all starts fall 1999 at the beggining of the new school year, Ale, Sam and me decide to form a band.Soon after I heard the new guy in the bus played drums. We asked him to come check us out after school, we then started practicing with Sacha in my basement. We had a few songs but no lyrics. After doing only 3 shows, Sacha left for Trademark somewhere around april 2000(no hard feelings). We then started to look for a new drummer, but did'nt find any. So after the school year, I went to Vancouver for a couple of months. When I came back, we decided to form a real band with lyrics and we really wanted to tour
After a shit load of searching, we found Oliver. The first time we met him, he left his drum in my basement. We then decided it was easier just to call him DRUMMER it has stuck ever since. That was in march 2001. After all most one year of practice and a couple of shows, we decide to record our first demo with a friend of Ale's dad for really cheap. We recorded in Benoit's basement February of 2002. We recorded all the instruments in one day, the next week all the vocals took one day and a week after we had the demo. We recorded nine songs and chose to put 6 on the demo. We sold all our 200 copies in one month and a half, it was fucking suprising. After a few shows near by, we met Alex. He came in my basement with some equipement and we started work on the second demo.We recorded all the drums and bass in one day. We recorded the guitars and vocals after supper during one week, then mix it the next week. Thats how ''Thinking at what's happening'' was born somewhere in July 2002.
After that, we bought the first van and booked the first tour. We left Montreal on the 26 of September 2002 with 5 shows booked and started asking everyone on our way to Vancouver from Schools, bars, librairies, venues, house parties, booked shows in town and many more places..... After two months and a half, we came back to Montreal with 27 shows and no more of our 300 copies of Thinking at what's happening
After a couple months back from the tour we decided to enter once again the studio. It was in May 2003, in a old building in downtown Montreal with our good friend Alex. After one week of fun and one week of mixing ''Getting the pieces together'' was ready to get printed. One week after receiving the cds, we left for the second tour in June 2003. But this time we left with like 15 shows booked. In four months, we crossed two times Montreal-Vancouver, took 20 days of vacation in California, crashed our van, worked for 3 weeks picking apples in B.C. to buy a new van, did over 50,000Km, slept in more than 75 different living rooms and ended the tour with 47 shows. We sold 400 copies of ''Getting the pieces together'' and another 100 cds of ''Thinking at what's happening'' me and Alex burned those one by one in one night. And here we are right now, back from a long rest and ready to go play lots of fucking shows.
