King Kong Foo

Biography :
King Kong Foo started in 1995 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The five members were influenced by various bands from metal to punk rock to ska, and of course skate punk. As one of the few skatepunk bands from Denmark, they leaded the scene and shared the stage with international bands like Satanic Surfers and Shelter, and with most of the danish punk bands. They first appearance on CD was on the compilation Satan Ate My Head (1996). The year after the band self-released a 6-song mini-album. In 1998 they planned to release a compilation album with many other danish punk and hardcore bands such Ten Minutes Of Joy, Lack, Toybomb, Complete and many more. I couldn't find information if the album came out.

Crash 81

Biography (source Crash 81 official page) :
Crash 81 was formed in the summer of '95 back when they were a three man band and were called "The Serfs". The members then, consisted of Jeff Hazen on guitar and vocals, Daniel Hawkins on bass and backing vocals, and B.J. Hoskins on drums. They were The Serfs for about a year and then in the fall of '96, because of too much arguing between Daniel and B.J., the band was kind of on a hiatus for the moment. Daniel and Jeff got back together about 2-3 weeks later and decided to look for a new drummer and also renamed the band Crash 81 (no, it doesn't mean anything, they just thought it sounded cool). Many drummers came and went, but none seemed to work out. Then Daniel and Jeff booked a show but didn't have a drummer and they only had a month to practice till the show. They found a drummer named Sam who was a local drummer and drummed for a band called Mr. Yuck in the Houston area. They ended up learning all the songs needed for the show, and played the show on March 22, 1997. Since Sam was just a fill-in drummer, Crash 81 still needed to find someone to permanently fill the position. Jeff and Daniel were left without a drummer once again. Then in late April, Jeff and Daniel regrouped with B.J. and the band was back and complete once again. Practice was going well and everyone was getting along fine. Then in May of '97, in order to have a more complete and better sound and to take the pressure off Jeff a little, Crash 81 got a second guitar player named Greg Griesser. Greg was a longtime friend of the band and had helped the band out a lot in the past, including practicing with them sometimes and lending the band his practice space. Then in January of '98, B.J. left the band. Crash 81 was glad to get his fatass out of the band, inadequate drumming is not something to be tolerated in Crash 81, no sir.....neither are psychotic nervous breakdowns, but we won't delve into that. They then got Jeff Jones (J.J.) who sung for the local hardcore band, Finer Truth to play drums for them. Crash 81 eventually got their crap together and put together a decent little recording, a 10 song tape entitled, "Having Fun At Other People's Expense", which they quickly sold all 200 copies in a matter of months. In January of 2000, they finally released their long awaited debut CD, "Gutterchump Days", which helped them get more serious about their music. They approved this by embarking on a 3 week long tour in June of 2000. J.J. quit the band in August of 2000. In, October 2000, the band recruited big stud, Aaron Denton of No Preservatives fame to play drums for the band. They then released their long awaited "As The World Burns" EP in June 2001 and jumped on the ARA Tour across Texas with Link 80.

The Centerfolds

Biography :
The Centerfolds were a three piece band hailing from Riverside, California. Their influences include the Descendents/All, Bad Religion, Nirvana, The Police, Face to Face, MxPx, the Beatles, Green Day and the Cure. The Centerfolds have put out one full length CD, Maybe Next Time, on Moose Records, and one seven song EP which they released on their own Ridgemont Records in 2002. They have also appeared on numerous compilations and even organized/funded two samplers of local bands that were passed out for free all over California. However, the recordings didn't do justice to The Centerfolds amazing live performances. Fans all over the west coast have seen the boys open up for bands like Blink-182, Bad Religion, Unwritten Law, Guttermouth, Home Grown, Fenix TX, Dance Hall Crashers, The Ataris and MxPx.
The Centerfolds began playing in an inadequately ventilated garage in the heart of Riverside.
Danny Black (drums), Tim Floyd (vocals, guitar) and Chris Coolwalls (vocals, bass) started the band with a pact to always be true to the spirit of music. After a steady string of local shows and parties, the band began acquiring a dedicated fan base in SoCal. Soon, they managed to perform almost monthly in northern California and Arizona. These trips soon transformed into little tours which have taken the boys through numerous states and even into Mexico. This hard work has paid off for the band. Their EP was a top seller at interpunk.com and they earned the number 1 spot on the punk charts at garageband.com.

Noggin Toboggan

Biography (source wikipedia) :
Noggin Toboggan was a Christian punk band from Atascadero, California in the on Bettie Rocket Records.

The band formed in summer of 1995 when Mike Anderson (drums) met Jeremy Wells (bass guitar) at Atascadero Bible Church. Jeremy told Jeff (guitar) and Bryan Mclain (recorder) about Mike. Before long, Jeremy, Jeff, Bryan and Mike started playing. They recorded their first jam session at Bryan's house. Afterwards, Bryan left the band to go solo.

Jeff, Jeremy and Mike began practicing together and also became good friends in the meantime. They went to Joyfest '96 (Knotts Berry Farm) and talked to the Supertones. In 1997, Bryan re-entered the band and they recorded a 13-song EP at Moon Studios entitled Wookin Po Nub. This is a reference to a skit from the earlier days of Saturday Night Live where Eddie Murphy plays Buckwheat and tries to say "Looking For Love". They had 1,000 CDs pressed and distributed and it sold out. This album is very hard to find today.

Noggin Toboggan played many shows and they matured. When 1998 rolled around, they signed onto Bettie Rocket Records. In March 1999, they released their second album, Snapcase. The band released two more albums and then disbanded in 2002.

Latch Key Kids

Biography (source: wikipedia) :
Latch Key Kids are a punk rock band from Houston, Texas. Over nearly twenty years, the band has been one of the few mainstays in the city and one of the fewer who have ventured out on tour outside the city and state. Through longevity and perseverance, Latch Key Kids have become a very important inclusion in the lore of Houston, TX music.

The band started in 1993 as “Focused Realities” with singer Tim Guerinot, guitarist Jeff "Rhino" Neumann, and drummer Jonathan "JJ" Guerinot. Six months in, bassist Chris Seymour joined. After playing local shows in their hometown of Houston, Texas, for most of the year, the band recorded "Keys for Kids," a seven-song cassette that gained them enough notoriety on the local scene to earn opening slots of then-up and coming bands such as Lagwagon, Face to Face, Jawbreaker, and AFI. Chris Seymour left the band shortly afterwards to continue playing with Slaphappy, a Houston ska-core outfit that later went on to become Supermarket All-Stars. Joel Bordeaux, later of Injury, replaced him; the band later recorded the "Get Out of Jail Free" cassette in 1994, a split effort with Houston's Suburban Disturbance, a punk rock band featuring Marc Manic, later to become Latch Key Kids' second guitarist.

Continuing to play in the Texas area, Latch Key Kids' lineup changed again shortly after the second cassette with Joel Bordeaux leaving the band and being replaced with Scott Smith on bass. Additionally, for the first time, Latch Key Kids gained a second guitarist with Steve Torres' addition. With this lineup in 1995, the band recorded their biggest effort at the time, the "Time Out" 7" on Skene! Records, a label run by Jeff Spiegel, later to work for Fat Wreck Chords, that had already gained notoriety for having released one of Green Day's first efforts, the "Sweet Children" 7". With the new 7" in tow, Latch Key Kids continued to play every show they could throughout the Texas area.

The band's lineup changed again in 1996 with Steve Torres leaving Houston to attend college and Scott Smith moving on to play in Houston hardcore outfit Objection; they were respectively replaced with Suburban Disturbance's Marc Manic on second guitar and Dave Ng on bass. This would be the lineup that would record and release the band's first full-length on CD, "Anytime, Anyplace," in 1997. With their new lineup, Latch Key Kids set out on their first US tour in the summer of 1996; during this tour, the band stopped in Minnesota to record the record. Returning to Houston later that year, the record was picked up for distribution by the up and coming Houston label Pinche Flojo Records, founded by John Garcia of Houston ska band Los Skarnales at the time. The band released the record on the eve of a US tour in 1997 during a show opening for Ten Foot Pole.

Returning from the summer 1997 tour, Jeff "Rhino" Neumann, the band's founding guitarist, left the band to pursue a career as a road technician and stage and tour manager for many bands, starting with Fenix TX, a Houston band leaving at the time to tour with Blink-182. He was replaced with Dillon Sexton on second guitar. It was at this same time that the band's founding drummer, Jonathan "JJ" Guerinot, left the band to pursue his hardcore project, World Burns to Death, a band that would become increasingly popular in the hardcore community. He was replaced with Cory Worden on drums. This lineup would carry the band into 1998 and would record the band's second full-length, "Innocence Gone," on Pinche Flojo Records, released in the summer of 1998. [1] However, during the tour to support this record, Cory Worden left the band and Jonathan Guerinot once again returned to complete the tour.

Returning from the summer 1998 tour, Dave Ng moved from bass to fill in the vacant drum position while a new member who went by "Statch" filled the bass position. This lineup would record a split 7" with Dallas' Slowride that was never released in 1999. [2] This lineup would also tour with the 1999 Warped Tour alongside Blink-182, Bouncing Souls, Pennywise, and more.

In 2000, citing “real life” issues, Latch Key Kids went on hiatus.[3]This hiatus continued until 2007 when Tim Guerinot and Jeff “Rhino” Neumann met to catch up and decided to reform the band. Latch Key Kids reformed the band using a “fraternity” strategy; this meant they would fill the band with any former members available at the time of a potential show. [4] This strategy propelled the band through opening slots for NOFX and Bad Religion in 2008. The band continued to develop new songs and play in the Texas area throughout 2008 and 2009. [5]

In 2010, Latch Key Kids found a solid lineup with Tim Guerinot, Jeff “Rhino” Neumann, and Marc Manic along with new bassist Brad Collett and, back for the first time since 1998, drummer Cory Worden. This lineup, albeit without Neumann who was on tour as a technician with Avenged Sevenfold, would complete a series of shows in early 2011 with NOFX, Bouncing Souls, Cobra Skulls, and Old Man Markley. [6] Additionally, they would also play a series of shows with Less Than Jake, Supervillians, and Off with their Heads. [7]

In mid-2011, this lineup also went into the studio to track the “Democracy: The Art of Maintaining a State of Fear” EP. Prior to entering the studio, the band added Jeff Hazen, formerly of Houston punk rock outfit Crash 81 into a third guitar slot. Shortly after completing the tracking, Brad Collett moved away from the band and wasn’t able to continue with them.

Latch Key Kids, this time without Neumann, who was again doing technician work, and without Marc Manic, who was away for work, went on the road for a series of shows in August of 2011 with MA’s The Fake Boys supporting. [8] During this same set of shows, both bands supported the ongoing Riverboat Gamblers, Off with their Heads, and Dead to Me tour for the Houston date. With Brad Collett having moved, Dave Ng filled in the bass slot for this set of shows.

Following the August 2011 dates, Latch Key Kids completed the mixing and mastering of the “Democracy” EP with Ryan Greene, the storied producer of NOFX and more at the helm and found a permanent bassist in Scott Johnson, formerly of Houston outfit This Year’s Tiger. The “Democracy” EP has been announced for release on January 10, 2012 [9] and was covered in the January 12, 2012 Houston Press. [10]

The current Latch Key Kids lineup is Tim Guerinot (vocals), Jeff “Rhino” Neumann (guitar), Marc Manic (guitar), Jeff Hazen (guitar), Scott Johnson (bass), and Cory Worden (drums).
