Lets start the blog with this band from Houston, Texas that
played from 1994 to the beginning of the 2000's. As far as I know, they
only released one CD entitled Warm Up in 2000. The band disbanded soon
after the release and some members started other bands in different
music styles. They played fast and technical skatepunk with amazing
melodies... They were on a small label A-Attack Records with another
band called Kilroy I think they were playing similar style as Mr. Yuck
but I never had the chance to hear them...

ReplyDeleteIt looks like this band had another (demo only as it's recorded on a CDr that has nothing written on it??) release in 1998. I just found this CD in San Francisco. I cannot Google a single thing on it. Great Punk!! Out of the entire batch of Indie Rock, Punk, and Metal CDs that I found, this is by far the best!
ReplyDeleteI posted it on Discogs:

ReplyDeleteGrowing up in Houston, my brother showed me Mr. Yuck in 2000 when I was in middle school. Probably my favorite punk band of all time. Still jam to Warm Up in my mid 30's. This album was truly special. The drummers speed and rolls always blew me away. Its a shame we never got anything other than Warm Up, but still a blessing. My brother told me in 2000 that they had a brief reunion coming back under the name "Karrot". Some kind of laugh at the name Korn he told me. I have no way to verify if they did come back briefly under that name but I remember him telling me this one time. Crash 81 was another punk band that would play at Fitzgeralds. Me and my brother went to school with Jeff Hazen who was the guitarist for that band. The old Houston days of punk with bands like 30 Foot Fall and Mr Yuck were the golden days. Who knows where the boys of Mr Yuck are at today. Hope they're still active in music. They were sick and had a huge influence on teaching me fast punk beats for my drumming skills in my own bands
