One Inch Punch / Mid Youth Crisis

Everytime I read reviews or comments about this band, I am surprised to see how much people have respect for them. Many people say they are one of the best punk/hardcore band ever... One thing is sure, amongst all the Australian bands, MYC/One Inch Punch is definitely one of those that defined 90's punk scene. Now for some bio.. Everything started in Melbourne in 1993 under the name Downfall. After releasing a small demotape in 1994, they change their name the same year to One Inch Punch and will keep it until 1997 when they are again forced to change their name due to conflict with another band from Europe. So, they change for Mid Youth Crisis, and will release some stuff and play tons of shows before calling it a day in 1998. In 2002, they will reform to play two shows at the Arthouse, and one of them will be recorded and released the year after. They will again reform in 2004 for a couple of shows. If you like them, you may want to search on youtube, you'll find many videos by them.

No Thanx To Paul

No Thanx To Paul was a fast and technical melodic punk band from Tujunga, California. They started in the summer of 1998 from the ashes of the hardcore band Easter Rebellion. After a lot of research to find a good bassist, they are finally complete and record a small 4-song demo which is sold at their shows. They gain popularity rapidly and they plan to release a full lenght CD, a project that will be completed in 2001. In 2002, they decide to stop, but not long after they start again under the name Sunset Fiction, with a new member and some new musical influences which will leave No Thanx To Paul in the past.

Form Follows Failure

Form Follows Failure is a band that comes from Missouri, USA. They started in late 2000 and it was more as a past time than a real band, but with time it became more serious. Unfortunately, for some reasons, they decided to end it around 2004. This band consisted of four guys that had a lot of talent which led them to join some famous punk bands after the disbanding of FFF. Indeed,  Matt later joined the band Near Miss where he played for a while. Jevin Kayle is now playing in Much The Same and Josh Segal is now playing in Break The Silence. It's interesting to see how sometimes bands have connections within them!

One Meter Stance

Somewhere around 1996, 3 guys from Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean decide to start a skatepunk band in the vein of the other bands that they were admiring the most : Brain Püker, Son Of A Beat, Choke, etc. In the spring of 1997, the band record an album but for some reasons this one will never be released. This is in the winter of 1998 that they record a demo that will finally be produced and sold. The demo is entitled Unlucky. One of the songs, Young Boyg will also appear on the first compilation on Punx Without Mohawx which is entitled Are You Punk Enough ? One Meter Stance will later play many shows with other local bands like Son Of A Beat, Brain Püker, From Grass To Cheese, Try Again, Homer, etc. In spring of 1999 OMS take part of the Board Fest II, a tour across Quebec with Choke, Trigger Happy and many other bands in the same style. The summer come and the guys spend most of it writing songs for a next album that will never be done, as the band are unable to get a drummer. The band disband a few years later.
